The City of Holladay and the Utah Department of Transportation are exploring options for transportation improvements within the Holladay Village area. The proposed improvements will be presented at open house on Tuesday, March 13 in the Little Cottonwood Room at the Holladay City Hall from 5 to 7 pm. The public is invited to attend.
Among the proposed improvements under consideraton is the reconfiguration of the intersection of Holladay Boulevard and Murray Holladay Road and the extension of Laney Avenue eastward to intersect with 2300 East. In addition, the traffic signal currently located at the intersection of Holladay Boulevard and 2300 East may be relocated to the new Laney Avenue/2300 East intersection. The proposal includes the closure of a section of Holladay Boulevard, between Laney Avenue and Murray Holladay Road, for the construction of a new pedestrian plaza.
The Holladay Intersection Modification Project will also evaluate enhanced pedestrian amenities such as increased sidewalk widths, landscaping, street lighting, street furniture, and other design elements. Construction is expected to begin Spring / Summer 2008.
Please join the Holladay Intersection Modification Project Team to learn how the project will affect you, give feedback and meet project team members. The open house format will provide opportunity for one-on-one discussions with project team members, who will present transportation plans for the new Holladay Village area, provide traffic information, and discuss upcoming design and phasing activities. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions regarding issues such as design modifications, right-of-way, and property access. A follow up meeting will be held in May.
