BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
The Board meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (if there are applications)
6:00pm in the Council Chambers

The Board of Adjustment is made up of seven citizens who are appointed by the Mayor with the advise and consent of the City Council for a term of five (5) years. One member is appointed from each Council district to provide geographic representation with two alternates.

The Board of Adjustment hears and decides:
(a) appeals from zoning decisions by staff when applying the zoning ordinance;
(b) special exceptions to the terms of the zoning ordinance; and
(c) variances from terms of the zoning ordinance.
The Board of Adjustment may grant a variance from the terms of the zoning ordinance only if each of the 5 criteria established by the Utah Code are met. These criteria are included in the application to the Board and the application must address these statutory tests.
