On August 6, 2009, the Holladay City Council voted 5-1 to join the forthcoming Unified Police District (UPD). The UPD is now being formed with the County Sheriff and the cities of Holladay, Riverton, Herriman, and possibly Bluffdale participating. The UPD will assume law enforcement responsibilities for those cities and the unincorporated areas of Salt Lake County in early 2010.
The Unified Police District contracts with the City of Holladay to provide all of their police services. We take great pride in serving the citizens of Holladay. The City now consists of approximately twenty thousand residents, as annexation of additional geography occurred in 2002
