Proposed Fire Station Plan

On February 19, 2009, the Holladay City Council laid out a schedule of open houses and public hearings to show off a proposed City Hall Small Area Master Plan or SAMP. This Plan was developed by consultants James Glascock and Curtis Tanner, with input from the Planning Commission and City Council.

The City Council wants all interested residents to look at the proposed plans and give their input during the following meetings:
* Open House: Tuesday, March 10th, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. City Hall, Big Cottonwood Room.
* Planning Commission Public Hearing Meeting – Tuesday, March 17th, 6:00 p.m. City Hall, Council Chamber.
* City Council Public Hearing Meeting - Thursday, April 23, 2009, City Hall, Council Chamber.

The new plan intends to make the entire site a true multi-purpose venue with expanded athletic fields, large and small pavilions, bathrooms, band stand, tot lots, outdoor flexible event terrace, additional parking, a seasonal ice rink, walking trail, pedestrian connections to the Village Plaza and spectator berm, to name a few. To make this Plan possible, the City Council is looking at options to relocate the Fire Station. This plan will not happen all at once, but will be done in phases according to available funding.

The plans will be displayed at City Hall during the entire period and written comments will be accepted.
