Don't forget the staged reading of "The Importance of Being Earnest" Friday, April 11 at 7:00pm at City Hall

There’s a theater in City Hall! Downstairs in the Big Cottonwood Room the stage is renovated and ready for use. The Arts Council’s inaugural event is The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. This classic comedy will be presented as a staged reading on Friday April 11th at 7:00pm.

A staged reading gives you all the emotion, character and laughs of a full production, but the actors are holding scripts and there is no formal set. A wonderful cast of local performers has come together, including Holladay favorites Robin Edwards (nee Murdock if you graduated from Olympus before 1997--who hasn’t done a romantic comedy in a long time), Ruth Ann Patten, Dan Christensen and Jeff Davis (who had them rolling in the aisles at StageRight as the comic leads in The Foreigner and Farndale Avenue..Townswomen’s Macbeth and swooning as romantic roles in Much Ado About Nothing and The Man Who Came to Dinner).

All ticket receipts are going to Olympus Junior High’s fund to set up a library in Kenya. Prices are $2 per student, $5 per adult, $9 a couple, $12 a family (parents and children).
