FREE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS FAIR

WHEN: SATURDAY, JANUARY 15th, 2010
WHERE: BIG COTTONWOOD STAKE CENTER
1750 EAST SPRING LANE (5340 SOUTH)
TIME: 9:00 AM to 12:00 NOON
WHO’S INVITED: ALL HOLLADAY CITY RESIDENTS

  • Have you every wondered what would happen if a catastrophic disaster hit right here in Holladay?
  • Who would you turn to get help if the local public safety agencies couldn’t respond to your needs?
  • Where are you going to go for the essentials like water, food, shelter and medical attention?
  • Who in your neighborhood can you go to for help?
  • What is a Block Captain?
  • How do I get a message to my relatives that I am ok?
  • Do you have enough food and water stored?

Come to the Emergency Preparedness Fair and find the answers to these questions and many others that will best take care of you and your family. The Big Cottonwood Stake is sponsoring this event to help get all neighbors in the area get prepared in case of a disaster. Come learn with us as friends and neighbors to find out how to get yourself prepared. When disasters happen will you be ready?

AGENDA.
9:00 - 9:30

We are glad to have Bob Carey, who is the Operations Section Manager and Operations Chief for the Utah Division of Homeland Security, be our keynote speaker. Bob has worked for the State of Utah for many years and has served on many different positions that are all associated in one form or another with earthquakes. Bob graduated from Westminster College with a BS degrees in Environmental Studies and Geology. He has spent time working on the Wells Earthquake, the 1993 Northridge earthquake and the 1992 St. George earthquake. Bob is a State Delegate to the Western States Seismic Council and Committee Member on the Basin and Range Subcommittee. These are just a few of his strong commitments to serving in the earthquake awareness.


9:30 - 11:20 - Information seminars.

There will be several different 20min. seminars to give answers to many of the preparedness questions.

9:00 – 12:00 Displays on several preparedness essentials.
