Holladay Village Road Project

The Holladay Village road is an important step in revitalizing Holladay’s downtown area. This is a public private partnership involving federal and state agencies, the City of Holladay, private developers and our citizens

In general, this project includes the reconfiguration of the intersection of Holladay Boulevard and Murray-Holladay Road, the extension of Laney Avenue to intersect with 2300 East, and other improvements and modifications to Murray-Holladay Road, 2300 East, Holladay Boulevard, and Laney Avenue as shown. This project will address transportation deficiencies and needs within the historic downtown “Village” area of Holladay. The project is also intended to promote the “sense of place” envisioned in the Holladay Village master plan. An existing section of Holladay Blvd (between Laney and Murray-Holladay Road) will be abandoned and a new pedestrian plaza will take its place. Project amenities will include granite paver accents, decorative street lighting, landscaping, and wider sidewalks.

Project Schedule
This work will begin on Tuesday, April 7, 2009.  The project is planned to have the roadway, driveways, sidewalks, traffic signals and lighting done by November 7, 2009.  The remaining landscape and Plaza work will be complete in early 2010.  Regular work hours will be Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., unless extended hours are necessary.  Coordination will take place to minimize the traffic flow disruption to vehicles and pedestrians

Project Goals and Benefits:
*  Dramatically improved traffic and pedestrian safety
*  Creation of a walkable community
*  “a sense of place” to uniquely define our community
*  Enhanced small business atmosphere
*  A beautiful place to work and live in Holladay
*  Creation of a destination shopping district.
